Campus Profile:Hillel at Kent State`s welcoming staff and student leaders have created a Jewish community on campus where everyone has a place. With more than 25,000 students on campus at one of Ohio`s largest universities, some young adults might find it easy to get lost in the crowd, especially when Jewish students make up only 5 percent of the total population. But the recent opening of the Cohn Jewish Student Center andndash; a beautiful 11,000 square foot Jewish home-away-from-home in the center of campus -- has helped create a special place for the 1,500 Jewish students at Kent State and the University of Akron. Equipped with WiFi-friendly student recreation areas, a pool table, laundry facilities, three high-definition big screen TVs and a commercial Kosher kitchen, you'll find dozens of Hillel at Kent State students hanging around the building throughout the day. Open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., the Cohn Jewish Student Center is a great place to study between classes, meet friends, grab a snack, or just relax. Best known for its social programming, Hillel is the way to meet other Jewish students and form a connection with them that will last through college and beyond. From community service projects to holiday celebrations, leadership opportunities to social functions andndash; Hillel at Kent State is your connection to Jewish students on campus.
