Campus Profile:Old Dominion University Hillel is a small and mighty Hillel with a growing population of active Jewish students. ODU Hillel meets for Lunch and Learn programs, where kosher food is provided every other week. Students also go as a group to different synagogues, of different denominations, once a month and enjoy a delicious dinner at a restaurant in Norfolk. Special programs revolve around the High Holy Days, including a Sukkah that is built on campus, and an interfaith Passover Seder, that draws a large crowd from all the religious organizations. ODU Hillel also participates in the Taglit-Birthright Israel: Hillel Trip, with trip alumni active in Hillel. For fun, you can find ODU Hillel students at a Matisyahu concert, painting pottery, camping on the beach, or exploring sites in Hampton Roads. This dynamic group always has something new to offer and a part for each person to connect with.
