Campus Profile: Tulane Hillel strives to maximize students` potential through the commitment to Jewish values. The program at Tulane aims to serve as a Jewish resource on campus, highlight leadership development, build community and program to large numbers of students with a spirit of social entrepreneurship. We have a very active religious life with Friday night services for Reform, Conservative and/or Orthodox traditions. Hillel also hosts social events and parties, such as a Yom Ha`atzmaut and Purim Parties. Our leadership development initiative, Tulane Jewish Leaders, gives students the opportunity to meet with and learn from community leaders and start their own projects and programs with Hillel`s help and support. Additionally, Hillel works with Tulane University`s Student Affairs Department in promoting local community service projects and participation with Alternative Spring Break Trips. Hillel welcomes and encourages every student to form his or her own Jewish identity during this time of exciting life changes and development. A student coming to Tulane can expect to find a vital Jewish community on campus that is well integrated into the larger campus culture.
