Campus Profile:UC Davis is a large, public research university located in the true college town of Davis, CA. With an estimated 10% of the UC Davis student body identifying as Jewish, UCD has a large, vibrant, and diverse Jewish community. Hillel at Davis and Sacramento is located across the street from the UCD campus, and provides over 300 social, spiritual, cultural, tzedek (social justice), and Israel programs each academic year, developed and implemented by student leaders and staff. Hillel works closely with several Jewish student groups on campus, including Greek organizations, social justice projects, and Jewish cultural groups. Additionally, Hillel partners with other faith groups as part of the University Religious Council and Interfaith Campus Council, as well as several other campus organizations on programs and initiatives each year. Some of Hillel's hallmark weekly programs include a FREE kosher lunch on Tuesdays, as well as regular Shabbat services and meals. In addition to providing an array of speakers, discussions, movie nights, social programs, and volunteer opportunities, Hillel House is a home away from home for students, and is a great place to relax, grab a snack, do homework, and just hang out.
