Hillel Names Lay Leadership Exemplars of Excellence
March 16, 2001Comments (0) | Add | E-mail this to a friend (WASHINGTON, D.C., March 16, 2001) – Hillel: The Foundation for Jewish Campus Life has named seven volunteer leaders of Hillel Foundations from Texas to Silicon Valley as Exemplars of Excellence. Exemplars are nominated by fellow board members and Hillel professionals and honored for their outstanding dedication and effort on behalf of the Jewish campus community. The awards were presented at the Schusterman Hillel International Lay Leadership Conference in Washington, D.C.
The 2001 award winners are: - Mishy Balaban, Los Gatos, Calif., Hillel of Silicon Valley - David Cohen, Hollis Hills, N.Y., Cornell University - Alan Kluger Miami, Fla., Hillel Council of Florida - Gordon Rubinett, Austin, Tex., Texas Hillel - Joyce Shuman, of Greensboro, N.C., North Carolina Hillel - Herbert Solomon of San Diego, Calif., Hillels of San Diego - Esther Treitel, Riverdale, N.Y., Hillels of New York
"Exemplars are passionate, tireless and dedicated supporters and advocates," explains Hillel President and International Director Richard M. Joel. "Exemplars model what it means to strive for excellence."
