Meeting in St. Louis, Hillel professionals from around the globe paid tribute to colleagues who reached significant milestone marks in their careers.
Hillel President Wayne L. Firestone thanked the staff members: “These professionals have interacted with tens of thousands of students on multiple campuses and have each brought a unique flavor to our organization. All are consummate professionals who are deeply valued by their students, colleagues and by community partners.”
Celebrating 20 years of service were Hillel of Greater Philadelphia Associate Executive Director Marla Meyers and Margo Sack, director of Jewish student life at the Texas Hillel Foundation.
Two Hillel professionals celebrated 25 years with the organization, Ohio State University Executive Director Joseph Kohane and New England Regional Director Samuel Mendales.
Hillel professionals who have served the organization for 30 years or more include Ithaca College Hillel Executive Director Rabbi Michael Faber, Executive Director of Tufts Hillel Rabbi Jeffrey Summit, University of Michigan Hillel Executive Director Michael Brooks, and Rabbi Joseph Topek, executive director of Stony Brook Hillel.
University of Massachusetts, Amherst Hillel Executive Director Saul Perlmutter and Hillels of Illinois Regional Director Rabbi Paul Saiger marked 35 years with Hillel.
Hillel also bade farewell to three professionals who retired from the organization: University of Pennsylvania Executive Director Jeremy Brochin, Hillels of Israel Executive Director Rabbi Yossie Goldman, and University of Missouri, Columbia Executive Director Kerry Hollander.
