North Carolina Hillel students help "working poor" get support in extended hours
June 28, 2004Comments (0) | Add | E-mail this to a friendFor many charitable organizations, finding volunteers can be as difficult a process as addressing problems like poverty and hunger. And fewer volunteers mean less time each day that community groups can help people in need.
Now, thanks to the dedication of a growing number of UNC students and the support of the Foundation for Campus Jewish Life, one local agency is able to keep its pantry open and give people the assistance they need, even during evening hours.
