Hillel President Wayne L. Firestone delivered an address at the main plenary session during the 2011 Union of Reform Judaism (URJ) Biennial conference on Friday, December 16. Wayne spoke to an estimated crowd of 5,000 at the Gaylord Hotel in National Harbor, MD, and was among those who spoke immediately prior to President Obama. URJ used the plenary to launch its Campaign for Youth Engagement, and Wayne’s presentation touched on the importance of – and Hillel’s success in – doing just that: engaging Jewish college-aged youth.
