Rep. Chris Van Hollen (D-Montgomery and Prince George's) accepted an award for his support of the U.S.-Israel relationship yesterday and spoke to about 20 at Hillel about Israel-related issues.
Terrapin Israel Public Affairs Committee and the campus chapter of the Zionist Organization of America presented Van Hollen with an enlarged, laminated petition signed by 1,500 university students, faculty and campus organizations in support of the United States' relationship with Israel yesterday. The TerPAC has never recognized a congressman's accomplishments before.
"[Van Hollen] has been a steadfast supporter of the U.S.-Israeli relationship and strengthening it," TerPAC political director Adam Kaplan said. "Van Hollen is a longtime friend, advocate and supporter of Israel."
