Hillel Offers More to Students Today

The Federation's baby is growing up.
Hillel at the University of New Mexico was a student group without a home for some three decades. It was shepherded over the years by faculty advisers Shlomo Karni, Bob White, Noel Pugach, and Janet Gaines, and funded solely by the Jewish Federation of Greater Albuquerque (JFGA).
For many, Hillel's sole purpose was to keep a Jewish connection for students far from home with Shabbat and the High Holidays being the mainstay of the nationally affiliated campus organization.
Today, Hillel still keeps that link for UNM students and offers a lot more.
