"Hillel mourns the passing of our dear friend and colleague, Darin Diner, z”l,  executive director of Hillel of Broward and Palm Beach, who lost a long and courageous battle with cancer.  Our thoughts are with his beloved partner, Jon Anthony, and with the many family members and friends who are mourning the untimely loss of this wonderful man.

"Those of us who were fortunate to know Darin will cherish our memories of him.  He enriched Hillel in immeasurable ways.  We are all diminished by this terrible loss.

"May Darin’s memory serve for a blessing."

Darin worked with us for many years as the Director of the Miami Beach Jewish Community Center, a position in which he served with dedication, passion and professional excellence. Thereafter he was the Director of the Broward and Palm Beach Hillel. Darin left behind a large community of grieving family, friends and colleagues. May Darin's memory forever be a blessing to us all.

Hillel was his life. Nothing made him happier than to bring wonderful moments and experiences to Jewish students. My dear love we will meet again.  Jon Anthony

What a great loss!  I know his memory will be a blessing for all who loved him and for the thousands of lives he touched.

I had the privilege of working closely with Darin, serving as the basketball coach for the inaugural delegation for the Miami Beach JCC during the 2001 Maccabi Youth Games. Darin was a great guy who was loved and respected by everyone, a wonderful delegation head, and a real pleasure to work with. Darin exemplified the word 'mensch'. His loss is one that will be felt by the entire South Florida Jewish community. I am saddened to hear of his loss, and am certain his memory shall live on.

Darin's contributions to Hillel, to his community, and to the Jewish people are lasting. I felt privileged to work with Darin and was proud of his efforts to strengthen Jewish life in South Florida.  To Jon, Darin's parents and family and close friends, my thoughts and prayers are with you at this time of grief.

Yehi Zichro Baruch.

Darin was truly a hero; I am saddened and shocked. Prior to and during his long battle with this terrible disease, he was one of the kindest, caring, sincere, and of course funniest people I will ever know. His friendship was invaluable. I extend my depest heartfelt condolences to the Diner family and Jon during this most difficult time. May Darin rest in peace and may fond memories of him live on in our hearts and minds for many years to come.

What a great loss. I had tears in my eyes when we saw Darin's pictures during Wayne's speech. I only had the pleasure of speaking to Darin on conference calls, but his enthusiasm and spirit were an example to the rest of us. Rest in Peace!!

I am very sorry to hear about Darin's passing. Darin and I were fraternity brothers at AEPi while attending the University of Florida. To Daren's partner and family, my sincerest condolences. My thoughts are with you.

I don't know if you attended Darin's funeral.
From what I hear more than 500 people showed up - to a place that had capacity for less then half as much.  There was standing room only in the back, and scores of people who couldn't fit in the room.
It begged the question of how many people would show up at your funeral.
And it told me alot about how many people Darin had affected.  I had no idea.
I only knew him as my brother.
  May he rest in peace.
