On May 6, 2009, at the California State University, Northridge (CSUN) Clubs & Organizations Awards Ceremony, CSUN Hillel won two awards: the Collaborative Program Award for its 4th Annual Interfaith Multicultural Alternative Spring Break (cosponsored by the Religious Studies and Sociology Departments and VOICE LLC, the multicultural Residence Hall community), and the Commitment to Social Justice Award, for its social justice initiatives on and around campus.  Additionally, Gamma Alpha Theta, the Jewish sorority founded last year by Hillel students and supported by Hillel, won the Outstanding New Club Award and was recognized for having the highest Grade Point Average among sororities on campus.
