UF back to the 80s Party.

350 Jewish Gator alumni joined together for a special 'Back to the 80s' reunion party at the dance club Revolution in Fort Lauderdale on May 9th. The brainchild of UF Hillel board member Bruce Konners, this party was intended to not only reunite Jewish Gators from the 80s but also to highlight UF Hillel and how much has changed in the past 25-30 years.

Highlighted by DJs who worked in the nightclubs in Gainesville during the 80s, hundreds of Gators enjoyed seeing old friends and remembering what it was like to be a Jewish Gator on campus in the 1980s. A silent auction featured items such as parking for Gator Football games, Billy Donovan autographed basketballs and jerseys, a dozen burritos from the classic Burrito Brothers, a day sailing on Biscayne Bay with Norman Lipoff, and a signed Giclee print by artist and UF alum Stuart Sheldon.

With alumni coming from all over Florida as well as Atlanta, New York, and various other cities, the event was a huge success and plans are in place for this to be an annual event. Gator alumni from the 90s have already requested that a special reunion event be created for them and plans are in place to develop an alumni event for those Jewish Gators from the 1990s.

Pictures have been posted on Facebook and information is available at the special website, http://www.ufparty.net
