Brooklyn College Challah for Hunger

Every Tuesday Brooklyn College Hillel students join with Rebbetzin Shira Boshnack, an educator with the Orthodox Union's Jewish Learning Initiative on Campus, to knead, braid, bake and sell challah as part of the national Challah for Hunger project. The project not only allows students to do the mitzvah of tzedakah, charity, but allows them to teach Jews and non-Jews about Shabbat and Jewish laws concerning the challah.

Half of the proceeds go to Masbiah Soup Kitchen in Boro Park and the other half goes to the American Jewish World Service's Sudan Relief and Advocacy Fund (Darfur).
