Baruch College Hillel Celebrates Israel

Baruch College Hillel offers a variety of programs intended to engage the entire campus community around Israel.

Heal the World Exhibit In collaboration with the Black History Month committee, the Hillel created the "Heal the World Exhibit" featuring a display of "Scenes from Haiti" sponsored by the Consulate of Israel in New York and Stand with Us. Diversity in Israel. Hillel at Baruch and Peace in the Middle East club are hosting Israeli delegation of five guests representing Israel's diverse population.

In addition, Israeli diplomat Danny Biran gave a presentation on his experience as a member of the Israeli medical relief group that was one of the first outside agencies to provide aid to Haiti following its devastating earthquake.

Israel at Heart. Three Israeli students of Ethiopian origin and one from Darfur shared their personal stories about life in Israel. Afterward they spoke in the class of the head of the Black and Hispanic Studies Department.

Buy Israel. The Israel Club is tabling with Israeli goods and brochures.

Jews and Moslems: Similarities and Differences. Hillel at Baruch, the Moslem Student Association and Women in Islam are collaborating on an interfaith event to discuss commonalities and differences.
