Adam Lehman brings "Drive to Excellence" as COO of nation's largest Jewish campus organization
Hillel International, the nation's largest Jewish campus organization, is taking another step forward in its Drive to Excellence strategic plan by naming experienced business leader Adam Lehman as Chief Operating Officer. Lehman joins Hillel as a successful senior operating executive and entrepreneur, with a track record of achieving ambitious strategic plans in both corporate and emerging company settings. He will play a critical role in overseeing and directing Hillel’s Drive to Excellence, with the goal of implementing best practices to support and enrich Jewish life on as many campuses and in as many communities as possible.
"I am thrilled to have Adam working together with me to chart the future of Hillel,” said Eric Fingerhut, president and CEO of Hillel International. “His experience working at the highest levels of the corporate world, combined with his passion for cultivating the next generation of Jewish leaders, is exactly what we need as we move towards the goal of creating excellent Hillels on campuses across the country and around the world.”
Throughout his career as a business innovator and leader, Lehman has brought out the best in diverse teams of professionals in order to deliver successful organizational outcomes. He has a long history of creating effective partnerships with visionary leaders, and has extensive experience overseeing all business functions, including finance, legal, human resources, sales, marketing, product development and client services.
“I am excited to bring my experience from the private sector to Hillel in order to provide strategic and operational leadership as we implement the Drive to Excellence,” said Lehman. “Hillel provides a critical connection for young people to Jewish life and values as they make the transition to adulthood. I believe my background can help Hillel continue to transform its brand, infrastructure and operations in order to meet the unique challenges of the 21st century.”
Lehman previously served as a Senior Vice President and group Chief Operating Officer at AOL, Inc., founder of Rock Ridge Ventures, President and Chief Operating Officer of GeniusRocket, and most recently as President and Chief Operating Officer of high-growth software venture Lotame Solutions. Lehman has substantial experience managing complex global operations in partnership with charismatic leaders, while also working closely with boards, investors, and other stakeholders.
The new Chief Operating Officer position will provide critical strategic partnership to the President and CEO, in order to achieve priorities set by the CEO and Board of Directors. Lehman will supply Hillel with a new level of operational and managerial leadership, serving as the internal, day-to-day organizational director. This role provides an opportunity to play an important part in strengthening Hillel's impact as a global organization dedicated to building and helping secure the future of the Jewish people.
“We are thrilled to have Adam join our Hillel Family as Chief Operating Officer,” said Sidney Pertnoy, chair of Hillel International’s Board of Directors. “His unique blend of high-level business acumen coupled with his passion for Jewish life provides the Hillel movement with precisely the right formula for implementing our Drive to Excellence across the many campuses and communities we serve.”
Lehman holds a J.D. from Harvard Law School and a B.A. from Dartmouth College. He is an active member of the Washington, D.C. Jewish community, and a past board member of the Jewish Federation of Greater Washington, Beth Sholom Congregation and Fair Chance D.C.
