Before arriving at college, Kerry knew “close to nothing” about Judaism. Well, not entirely nothing. Hebrew school had made her an expert on baseball great Sandy Koufax. Craving more depth, she asked her parents’ rabbi to give her a crash course in Judaism the summer before her freshman year at Washington University in St. Louis. She never stopped learning.
At St. Louis Hillel, she plunged into the “diverse and living ecosystem of Jewish living and learning” she found there, eventually leading her to rabbinical school. After a rabbinic internship at Hillel at UCLA, she feels honored to begin her rabbinic career as a facilitator for personal development and Jewish meaning-making at Vassar College.
