August 19, 1999Comments (0) | Add | E-mail this to a friend It is with tremendous pride that the Hillel family wishes a special mazel tov to our dear friend and Chairman of Hillel's International Board of Governors, Edgar M. Bronfman, who was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom on Wednesday, August 11.
Mr. Bronfman was one of ten distinguished Americans presented with the medal, the highest US civilian honor, by President Bill Clinton at a White House ceremony. Former Presidents Gerald Ford and Jimmy Carter, and former First Lady Rosalynn Carter were among the honorees. We are delighted that Mr. Bronfman's efforts on behalf of Am Yisrael and his passion for provoking a global renaissance of Jewish life have been recognized by the President and the American people.
