New Winnick Hillel Center Dedicated at Syracuse University
November 18, 2003Comments (0) | Add | E-mail this to a friend The Winnick Hillel Center at Syracuse University was formally dedicated Sunday with songs and the affixing of the mezuza.
The mezuza is a piece of parchment that contains a prayer and is in a case that is placed on the doorpost of Jewish homes.
"It makes us a Jewish home," said Joel Miller, Hillel's executive director.
There was standing room only as students, staff and members of the Jewish community gathered in the lobby of the new Jewish student center at 102 Walnut Place for the dedication.
