On her first day in college, Anna Polishchuk's philosophy professor compared Israelis to Nazis.

Worse yet, "no one else in class so much as blinked," says an older (by three years) and much wiser Polishchuk.

It was a rude awakening for the freshman at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. "I almost died right there in the front row," she recalls.
