Hillel:The Foundation for Jewish Campus Life honored seven campuses with awards for professional excellence at its Professional Staff Conference in Baltimore in December. The awards correspond to the key objectives of Hillel’s Strategic Plan which was developed in 2004-2006 and approved in May 2006.

The University of Arizona Hillel Foundation was given the Haber Award for Excellence in Engagement and Meaningful Jewish Experiences for its program “Shabbat Uncensored” which promoted the Sabbath among students.

The University of Pennsylvania Hillel received the Haber Award for Excellence in Engagement and Meaningful Jewish Experiences for its Center for Engagement.

University of Maryland Hillel was recognized for its ability to raise funds through its Friends Asking Friends Campaign.

Hillel of San Diego was recognized for its ability to raise funds through its Create a Jewish Legacy Endowment Campaign.

Stanford Hillel and Hillel at Virginia Tech were given the University and Community Partnerships Award for outstanding leadership in becoming an indispensable partner to their host universities.

Berkeley Hillel received The Great Place to Work Award for supporting, respecting and honoring professional staff.
