Lee Bienstock hopes to go from Cornell to Trump Tower as the next Apprentice.

Former Cornell Hillel student leader Lee Bienstock aimed high to find his first post-college job – as high as Trump Tower. Selected as one of 18 contestants for the fifth installment of NBC’s “The Apprentice,” Bienstock is now one of two finalists competing to become Donald Trump’s next protégé. And for the first time in the history of the show, viewers will be able to tell Trump whom they think should win by voting for their favorite candidate on the “Apprentice” Web site by June 5.

Trump will choose between Bienstock and recruitment consultant Sean Yazbeck during a live finale on Monday, June 5 at 9:30 p.m. Eastern. At 23 years old, Bienstock is the youngest member of the cast, having graduated from Cornell in the spring of 2005 with a degree in policy analysis and management. He served as the vice chair of internal relations at Cornell Hillel and often acted as the master of ceremonies at Cornell Hillel special events. A native New Yorker, he attended the Orthodox Hebrew Academy of the Five Towns and Rockaway.

Bienstock wasn’t the only observant Jew vying to become the next “Apprentice.” Entrepreneur Daniel Brody also competed for the title but was fired in an episode that aired in late March. Both candidates created a strong buzz among the Jewish community when they sat out tasks to observe the High Holidays, which occurred during the season’s taping last fall.
