U.S. Commission on Civil Rights launches a Web site to end campus anti-Semitism.
U.S. Commission on Civil Rights launched a Web site to end campus anti-Semitism.

On April 13, 2007, the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights launched a Web site that contributes to ending campus anti-Semitism. Designed to educate college students and others on anti-Semitism, to urge victims and witnesses of anti-Semitism to report such incidents and to serve as an information source for students, the Web site is part of a campaign that the Commission undertook following the occurrence of anti-Semitic incidents on many of the nation’s university and college campuses.

In November of 2005, the Commission heard testimony from a panel of experts that anti-Semitism persists on college campuses and is often cloaked as criticism of Israel. The experts agreed that too many college students are unaware of their rights and protections against anti-Semitic behavior.  Additionally, the Commission published its findings in a recent report on Campus Anti-Semitism.

May we all learn to resolve conflicts with respect for one another, and love rather than hate.

If this site can educate people to know that we are all more alike than we are different, that would go a long way to stamp out all kinds of prejudice, including anti-semitism.

So, what do you do when your campus Police are anti-semitic??  (Some of us live in places where neo-nazi groups are the norm, including membership among local and state law enforcement...)
