In an effort to more than double the number of Jewish college students and recent graduates who participate in its trips, Hillel: The Foundation for Jewish Campus Life is offering ten new Israel trips this summer through the Taglit-birthright israel program.

In addition to Hillel’s regularly-scheduled May and June trips -- campus-based Explore Israel, KOACH for Conservative Jews, recent graduate trips and “Hillel Rolls” for participants with mobility impairments – Hillel will also be offering the following specialty programs in July and August:

  • Alcohol-Free (July)
  • Arts and Culture (July)
  • Bi-lingual: American Sign Language/Spoken English (June)
  • Environmental (July)
  • Explore Israel Campus-Based Trips (May, June, August)
  • Outdoor Adventure – Land (August)
  • Outdoor Adventure – Sea (August)
  • Pre-College Freshmen (August)
  • Law Students (August)
  • Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Questioning (July)

Registration for all trips opens Thursday, February 15th at 9am EST.

The new summer trips were made possible, in part, by a $25 million grant to Taglit-birthright israel from The Adelson Family Charitable Foundation.

“Taglit-birthright Israel: Hillel trips not only enable young people to see Israel, it enables them to build friendships and active social networks that will continue even after they return home,” says Hillel President Wayne Firestone. “We are thrilled with this opportunity to offer more summer trips than ever before.”

Hillel will continue to offer more than 70 campus-based Explore Israel trips that provide a wide exposure to the land and people of Israel, and that build strong relationships with students from the same campus.

Hillel's new pre-college trips will enable recent high school graduates to explore Israel while they meet students from their destination campuses.

Hillel encourages students, campus professionals, Hillel volunteer leaders, parents and others to invite young people to participate in these Hillel trips by using a Hillel e-card.
