The 2007 UJC GA will be held in Nashville, Tenn., from Nov. 11-13.

Hillel is looking for articulate, bright and personable student leaders to be part of Hillel’s student delegation at the United Jewish Communities General Assembly (GA).  Registration is open until Monday Oct. 15.

Hillel once again will make its mark on the UJC GA by infusing the event with student activists, who will provide a fresh perspective on Jewish campus life and global Jewish issues.

The United Jewish Communities has made a generous commitment to subsidize student participation both with travel costs for those students who need to fly to attend, as well as registration fees.
 
 "The GA is a unique opportunity for our students to share their enthusiasm with the leadership of the North American Jewish Community in this most important communal meeting of the year," said Ralph Grunewald, Hillel's executive vice president.

 The GA is the gathering of thousands of Jewish leaders from across North America and the world, the single largest gathering of its kind. This year, the program will take place in Nashville, Tenn., from Nov. 11-13 under the banner "One People. One Destiny."

UJC's contribution will allow 125-175 articulate, bright, and personable student leaders who will best represent campus across North America to attend. 
 
Full student registration, which costs $150 and includes all GA sessions, accommodation at the spectacular Gaylord Opryland Hotel for two nights in a triple room, and most meals, is open until Mon. Oct. 15.  Commuter registration is $100.

"Students will have an extraordinary opportunity to immerse themselves in current events and the vital social and religious issues facing Israel, North American Jewry, and Jews worldwide," said Grunewald.  “They will rub shoulders with important thinkers, philanthropists, Jewish communal leaders, and take part in this conference of thousands of committed Jews who care deeply about the Jewish future."

While at the GA, students will be encouraged to fully participate in the program and will also be provided with special opportunities for personal and professional development, including, but not limited to:

• Participation in federation-hosted community receptions on Sunday evening
• UJC Young Leadership Cabinet/Hillel private screening of Academy Award-winning film "West Bank Story" and a reception with its producer, Ari Sandel, on Sunday evening
• A reception with Grammy Award-wining "hip-hop violinist" Miri Ben-Ari on Monday evening
• Career advice on how to navigate Jewish organizations and apply for jobs with organizations that match your passion, how to network, develop a quality resume, and interviewing tips;
• Meetings with senior volunteer leaders and professionals to learn about their commitment to the Jewish community and about careers in the Jewish community
• Exclusive up-close-and-personal session with Hillel President Wayne L. Firestone – selected for the past two years as one of the "Forward 50" most influential Jews in America
• Interactions with other student leaders from campuses throughout North America
• An optional social action program with Hillel and UJC's Young Leadership Cabinet on Sunday morning (organized by Vanderbilt Hillel).
