Hillels from North America, Latin America and Israel received Hillel Vision & Value Awards for their successful work in pursuing Hillel’s core goals: creating meaningful Jewish experiences for students, being a great place to work, serving as an indispensable campus partner to the university and successfully raising funds.

Hillel at Sapir College in Sderot, Israel, and Hillels in Latin America received The Joseph Meyerhoff Award for Meaningful Jewish Experiences by demonstrating how a single initiative or the integration of multiple experiences increased the number of students on their campuses having meaningful Jewish experiences.

Hillel at Sapir College received the award for excellence in building relationships with students and partnerships with the community through meaningful Jewish experiences about ecological awareness and community volunteerism. Hillel recognized Hillels in Latin America for excellence in connecting thousands of Jewish students to global Jewish peoplehood through alternative student break experiences.

The Great Place to Work Award

University of Kansas Hillel received the Great Place to Work Award for its creative, entrepreneurial, and proactive efforts to find and keep great staff. The Hillel recruited, developed and retained highly talented professionals by utilizing a variety of resources and networks within and outside the Hillel system to attract talented candidates; to encourage staff to maintain a work-life balance; to offer a variety of learning and professional growth opportunities; and to employ a systematic process for supervising and evaluating staff performance.

Vision and Values Award for Indispensible Campus Partnership

Franklin & Marshall Hillel and Northwestern University Hillel have become indispensable campus partners to their universities by integrating the campus community into the planning and implementation of Hillel initiatives; sharing resources with various departments and organizations; promoting initiatives, events, and services that inform the campus; and gaining public recognition from influential leaders in the campus community.

Hillel cited Franklin & Marshall Hillel for serving as a small and mighty model of diversity, inclusion, and spiritual growth in the Franklin & Marshall campus community. Northwestern University Hillel was recognized for developing innovative and creative approaches to enrich the lives of all students, faculty, and administrators at Northwestern University.

Vision and Values Award for Development

Tufts University Hillel received the Vision and Values Award for Development through creativity, innovation, and perseverance in dramatically expanding and diversifying its sources of funding. Tufts Hillel created a unique and excellent endowment campaign that translated strategic relationships into dramatic increases in funds raised.
