What's in a Name? It is a random coincidence that Virginia Tech Hillel Executive Director Sue Kurtz and I share a name. So not surprising, I occasionally receive e-mails intended for her. After a moment of confusion, I forward them to her, as it is usually a Hillel staffer or a board member e-mailing something I don't know anything about. But on the morning of April 16, when I received another e-mail intended for Sue, I took notice. In it, a concerned colleague anxiously inquired how she and her daughter were doing; they had heard something disturbing about Virginia Tech on CNN. After a quick Internet search, I, too, was a concerned colleague. Throughout the day, I volleyed e-mails, from and for Sue, back and forth. As concern across the country and throughout the Hillel community grew, I could feel the link of communal support growing and getting stronger. May this link of support continue to provide strength for our entire Virginia Tech family. They will need it.
If you would like to send a message to the Virginia Tech Hillel, please share your thoughts.
