National Jewish Law Students Association

NJSLA logo.Representing Jewish law students at over 195 law schools, the National Jewish Law Students Association focuses on assisting Jewish Law Students Associations with Social Action, Israel, Community Service/Pro Bono, Networking, Legal and Jewish education programming as well as general support to Jewish law students at each campus.

In March of 2008, over thirty law students representing local Jewish Law Student Associations from around the country joined together to reinvent the National Jewish Law Students Association at the first ever annual Constitutional Convention. The student leaders desired a bigger and greater presence than ever before and knew that a make-over was necessary.  The Convention more than just reinvented the NJLSA, but empowered Jewish law students to create and implement a national vision and mission

The new NJLSA has begun its first year strong. We have created a partnership with the Hillel Association that will help us connect with professionals all over the United States. We have created a website that will be able to link all the local chapters and to bring these local chapters programming ideas to increase membership, fundraising suggestions, and information on our annual conference. Further, we are working to create a network of Jewish Legal Professionals from all over the United States that are willing and excited to help our law students find internships, externships, and first year associate positions.

For more information about NJLSA, please visit our newly designed website.

Law Student Involvement
Excited and energized, the NJLSA is seeking Jewish law students and JLSA board members from schools all over the country to get involved. Send us your ideas, your suggestions, your input. What would make your local chapter better, and how can we help you with that? Thinking of starting a chapter, but don’t know how to begin? Contact us and we will help you with that too.  Just joined a new school and don’t know what type of Jewish community you have available to you? Contact us and we can help you get associated with your local community.  Plans are developing for the second annual national convention and we want you to be there.

Vision

For every Jewish law student to make an enduring commitment to Judaism, professionalism, and the community.

Mission
To enrich the lives of Jewish law students and to support local JLSA chapters, so that they may contribute to the Jewish people, their communities, and the world.
