Looking for ways to fund your outstanding ideas, projects, and initiatives? Hillel provides funding ranging from $200 to $7500 for new or innovative campus-based initiatives that advance Jewish values and reach a broad range of students. Click on the name of the grant for more detailed criteria.

Student Initiated Grants

Outstanding Student Initiatives - Student run initiatives that advance Jewish values and reach a broad range of students.

• Strong interactive and experiential components
• Long-term initiatives, projects, and campaigns rather than individual programs

ICC Israel Advocacy - Creative and innovative ongoing Israel advocacy initiatives.

Must be submitted at least 30 days in advance of the project. Up to $7500 • Student initiated and implemented (no Hillel staff involvement)
• Long term Israel initiatives/ projects rather than individual programs
• Emphasis on impactful initiatives that change campus status quo as it relates to Israel

Bronfman Strategic Engagement - Student run initiatives that reach a broad range of students and advance Jewish values.

Alternative Break Expansion - Hillel Alternative Break initiatives intended to support significant growth in the participation of Jewish students in transformative, meaningful Jewish service learning experiences.

CLOSED • Domestic Breaks: Approx. $300/student
• Intl. Breaks: Approx. $600/student
• Campus Organized Hurricane Katrina Breaks: $100-$150 per student
• Grants will be awarded to campuses demonstrating growth in Alternative Breaks by 1) increasing student participation by minimum 50%, or 2) offering a campus-organized Hurricane Katrina Alternative Break.
• Hillel reserves the right to withdraw or decrease grants to any campus who does not reach their participant goals within 20%.
• Grants will be awarded based on a competitive evaluation process.  Priority will be given to the increase in students, not the total number of students participating.
