Hillel Darmstaedter Holocaust Education Project Grants
The Hillel Darmstaedter Holocaust Education Project Grants provide funding for innovative initiatives that contribute to a greater awareness of the Holocaust on campus and among campus opinion leaders. View a video that includes previous Darmstaedter grant recipient programs.

Since Hillel encourages projects that reach the largest number of students on campus, priority will be given to those that include a well-developed marketing and public relations plan. Additionally, Hillel suggests that applicants look to collaborate with community organizations for programmatic support and sponsorship. Hillel welcomes proposals that include a diversity of participants, including non-Jewish students, faculty members and administrators.

Grants will be given from different pools of funds to two distinct types of prorgams (details below). Darmstaedter Holocaust Education Programs are individual programs that promote an awareness of the Holocaust on campus and among campus opinion leaders. Cabaret at the Edge of the World support the production of unique theatrical events that include music from the Holocaust period and that celebrate spiritual resistance.

Funding is not offered for

  • Fundraisers;
  • Components of the program that are not part of the actual program (e.g. travel expenses and hotel for a speaker);
  • A replication of a regularly-scheduled program on your campus.
Deadlines

The number of grants is limited. Applications for Darmstaedter Holocaust Education Program and Cabaret grants are rolling.

All materials and publicity must state that funding for the project has been made possible by the Hillel Darmstaedter Holocaust Education Program.
