Hillel's Charles and Lynn Schusterman International Center (SIC), Hillel’s global headquarters, is located in the heart of Washington, DC. SIC supports local Hillels by offering a comprehensive spectrum of resources and services, including content or consulting in the areas of institutional advancement, strategic planning, leadership development, fundraising, human resources, fiscal administration, student engagement, and communications.

Description and Responsibilities:
As a Conference Coordinator at Hillel’s Schusterman International Center, you will work with key stakeholders at Hillel’s downtown headquarters to plan, organize, and help facilitate Hillel’s premier summer training, Hillel Institute. This week-long training will occur at the end of the summer in St. Louis, Missouri, and is attended by over 800 staff and students from around the country.
In preparation for the summer institute, you will have the opportunity to manage logistics, curriculum, and conference materials, steward relationships with guest presenters, and communicate with conference participants. Hillel will pay for you to attend Hillel Institute from July 31st-August 7th to help facilitate key components for participants and see your hard work throughout the summer come to fruition!
Supervision and Professional Development Opportunities:
All interns will receive ongoing supervision and mentorship from Hillel staff, in addition to professional skills workshops, opportunities to meet with Hillel’s top executives, and ongoing Jewish enrichment from a variety of local and community educators. Interns will be inspired by joining a larger cohort of an exceptional group of peers, and by exposure to a variety of top national Jewish organizations and non-profits including AIPAC, Sixth & I Historic Synagogue, among others.
Qualified candidates will possess the following characteristics:
Ideal candidates should have an interest in transforming their local campus communities upon completion of the internship. They must be committed to helping create a Jewish future that is relevant and compelling to them and their peers. Interns must possess an innovative, creative, and problem-solving approach to their work.
In addition, interns should posses:

• Time and project management skills
• Ability to multitask
• Attendance at previous Engagement Institute is preferred

Application Process:
Hillel will be hiring a maximum of 6 Conference Coordinators. Applications are rolling and must be submitted no later than Friday, April 29, 2011. Applicants will be notified by e-mail upon receipt of their completed applications. Phone interviews will be offered to a select number of candidates for the week of May 2, 2011. The internship is 8 weeks in duration, and will begin June 13th and end August 7th.
Compensation:
$1000 Living Stipend for 8 Weeks
