Kosher food is available in the local markets. The Yiddish Book Center is located at nearby Hampshire College. In addition to Amherst Hillel, students advocate for and celebrate Israel as part of Amherst Friends of Israel. Amherst students participate in Five College Hillel programming, birthright Israel trips and Jewish interests groups. Students can take classes (including many more Jewish studies classes) at any of the Five Colleges, which can be reached by free busses.
