About CSU, Fullerton

Hillel at CSUF is a small but active group that meets weekly to discuss issues and plan events. The most popular activity currently is the monthly Shabbat dinners which attracts almost 30 students. Hillel students also participate in social, educational and Jewish holiday programs and events. In addition, Hillel students participate in "county-wide" events sponsored by the Hillel Foundation of Orange County. These events include "Club Hillel" Dances, "Cafe Hillel" Open `Mic` Nights, and the year-end Semi-formal Banquet. The Orange County Jewish community is very supportive of Jewish student activities at the local colleges. Hillel has a good working relationship with the campus ministry, holds an annual Jewish arts festival and participates in the West Coast Regional Kallah. Many programs are held jointly with Hillel at the University of California-Irvine. The Hillel Foundation of Orange County, based at these schools, serves as a resource for Jewish students at area community colleges. The Hillel Foundation of Orange County has created a Countywide Council comprised of representatives from all the OC campuses, to plan and organize countywide events. The Orange County Regional Student Board ensures programming that includes California State University at Fullerton, University of California at Irvine, Chapman University, Fullerton College, Goldenwest College, Irvine Valley College and Saddleback College.

The Hillel Foundation of Orange County (OC Hillel) provides enriching opportunities at University of California, Irvine that engage students in Jewish traditions and culture and build dedicated leaders who will better the Jewish people and the world. OC Hillel provides the opportunities for Jewish students to develop and participate in diverse programs at UCI including as alternative break trips to Guatemala, social events, networking opportunities with top Jewish professionals, Shabbat celebrations, campus wide Israel Festivals, weekend retreats sports nights, Jewish holiday celebrations, affinity interest-based groups, Israel advocacy trainings, trips to Israel and more.
