A SNAPSHOT OF TANGER HILLEL AT BROOKLYN COLLEGE
The Tanger Hillel House at Brooklyn College is the only dedicated Hillel building across the City University of NY system. It is distinguished as one of the largest Hillel facilities in New York and is among the premier Hillels across North America.
At Tanger Hillel we offer a home away from home where all students are welcome. We are proud of our diversity. Each year, in addition to American-born students, we welcome Russian speaking, Israeli, Syrian, Kavkazi, and Bukharin students and our students come from every stream of Jewish observance.
Bridging the Gap, our flagship program, exemplifies Tanger Hillels leadership role as we serve Brooklyn College and 14 additional campuses in New York City. Bridging the Gap brings Jewish students from diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds together to unite and strengthen the larger Jewish community.
Tanger Hillel welcomes the commuter population at Brooklyn College, as well as students from other colleges to take advantage of accessibility through our extended hours, intersession, night and summer programming; and on-site staff.
At Tanger Hillel, students are busy throughout our building as they engage in and use our facilitys many resources
Meeting rooms where many Jewish clubs convene regularly
Auditorium with formal stage and full lighting capability
Recreation room with big screen TV, ping pong, and computers
Conference room, study lounge, and an outdoor barbecue area
