About Pace U., Pleasantville

Hillel at Pace, Pleasantville, part of Hillels of Westchester, is a small Jewish student organization. Through Hillels of Westchester, Jewish students at Pace have the opportunity to participate in the following: Tzedek (social justice) Projects, including initiatives to feed the hungry and participation in an annual Alternative Spring Break trip to assist with the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. Weekly Shabbat services/dinners and Jewish holidays celebrations Israel Programs that focus on education, culture and advocacy participation in Taglit: Birthright Israel trips. Lectures, concerts and other performances relating to Jewish culture and history, and Jewish learning.

Alt Break Participation Alternative Breaks are organized, short-term service projects, often involving travel. Student participants are challenged to understand difficult social issues and to explore questions of Judaism and social responsibility while giving of themselves and their time.

Hillel Foundation


Founded in 1995 and separately incorporated in 2004, Hillels of Westchester is a campus-based organization that serves the 1,300 Jewish students at Purchase College, Sarah Lawrence College, Pace University - Pleasantville, and Manhattanville College. We offer students of diverse backgrounds a broad array of unique experiences that nurture and deepen their Jewish identities whether spiritual, philosophical, historic, cultural, social, or ethical. We partner with Westchester rabbis and faculty from Jewish Studies programs to enhance Jewish learning and scholarship, as well as support the diverse identities of the aforementioned educational institutions. Recognized for our extensive work in Jewish student outreach and leadership development, Hillels of Westchester achieved the status of Hillel Foundation in 2007. This multi-campus Hillel serves approximately 1,300 undergraduate and 100 graduate students on four liberal arts campuses; Purchase College, Sarah Lawrence College, PACE University-Pleasantville and Manhattanville College.
