Hillel at Simmons is your center for Jewish life on campus and is a member of the Hillel Council of New England family. Simmons Hillel offers social, cultural, religious and educational programming throughout the year. The Jewish community at Simmons is always looking for new leadership and interest! Simmons Hillel is supported by the Simmons Office for Student Leadership and Activities, The Office of the Dean for Student Life, Hillel Council of New England and the Soref Initiative of Hillel: The Foundation for Jewish Campus Life. Simmons Hillel is staffed part-time Hillel Director Miriam Blue and she is available to meet with students regarding personal or religious issues, as well as just to chat. She is able to help you arrange attending Boston area Shabbat services, signing up to prepare your own kosher meals and so much more.
We are the proud recipient of the 2008 Student Organization of the Year and 2010 Advisor of the Year awards presented by the Student Government Association and the Office for Student Leadership and Activities. We are honored to have been recognized in April 2009 by the Consul General of Israel to New England for outstanding work in support of Israel on campus. We are also the grateful recipient of a 2010 Centennial Grant awarded by the Alumnae Association of Simmons College.
