Minnesota’s Give to the MAX Day, hosted by GiveMN.org, helps local non-profits fundraise for their organizations. Inspired and armed with a “challenge grant” of $1500 from three recent alumni, Hillel at the University of Minnesota (Hillel UMN) set out to raise $3000 on 11/15. An email campaign told stories of those impacted by Hillel UMN. Staff and board members scheduled donations ahead of time, giving them a great start. Students attended the Hillel UMN Give to the MAX Day party, where they could win raffle prizes for donating or asking 10 contacts to support the cause..
Sarah Routman, Hillel UMN Executive Director, shares, “Watching the dollar amount raised inch closer to and eventually surpass our goal was humbling and exhilarating. The community came together to support Jewish students. We at Hillel UMN reach out to our local community, to help us tell the story of the impact we are making each and every day that we engage our students.”
