Mission Statement:
The Academy for Jewish Religion, founded in 1956, prepares women and men to serve the Jewish community as rabbis and cantors.  Our graduates serve as congregational spiritual leaders, chaplains, educators, and professionals in Jewish social and communal organizations.  We welcome, without regard to race, age or sexual orientation, exceptional students who commit themselves to the ideals of devotion to God, Torah and Israel.  Our students come from all of the movements and many are unaffiliated.  The AJR is committed to modeling respectful pluralism.
