Mission Statement:
The Jerusalem Open House is a community center for Jerusalem's gays, lesbians, bisexuals, and transgenders, advancing the cause of social justice and pluralism. The mission of the Jerusalem Open House (JOH) is to make it possible for the city's Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender (GLBT) individuals to live their lives openly and freely, without fear of oppression. JOH seeks to provide a central and friendly home for lesbigay individuals and organizations and to create frameworks which will unite a fragmented community and reach out to GLBT individuals who feel isolated. JOH develops innovative programs to meet the diverse needs of Jerusalem's GLBT community and promotes dialogue and fosters relationships among the various communities of Jerusalem -- religious and secular, gay and straight, Arabs and Jews.
