The Ben Gurion University of the Negev M.D. Program in International Health and Medicine in collaboration with Columbia University Health Sciences is a four-year medical degree program that focuses on the emerging field of international health and population-based medicine. Our program is small, competitive, and geared toward students with an interest in global health. Classes are taught in Beersheva, Israel in English for the first three years. During the fourth year students may apply to do up to five months of clinical electives at Columbia University and a two-month international health and medicine clinical elective is conducted in Kenya, India, Ethiopia or Israel. Students take the USMLE and are expected to complete residencies in the United States. Our program is approved by the US Dept. of Education for participation in federally funded student loan programs.
