Mission Statement:
Cultural Jews have a passion for their Jewish identity, yet they struggle to express it in ways that are consistent with their beliefs. They are far from alone. In fact, the majority of Jews throughout the world identify themselves as cultural or secular Jews. Cultural Jews understand Judaism as the history, culture, civilization, ethical values and shared experiences of the Jewish people. It is not religious beliefs that connect us to each other, but the entire civilization of our extended Jewish family. The Center for Cultural Judaism develops educational and outreach programs for non-religious, cultural, secular and Humanistic Jews. We work to create compelling campus programs for cultural college students. We offer grants to encourage the study of the history and philosophy of secular Judaism in accredited universities and colleges. We gather, translate and share exciting materials that are being developed around the world. The future of Judaism depends in part on reaching this community and enabling them to celebrate their Jewish identity and pass it on to the next generation. We will assist you to develop programs to engage those students who consider themselves non-religious, cultural, secular and Humanistic Jews.
