Mission Statement:
Drisha provides women with the opportunity to engage in traditional Jewish text study in an environment which encourages seriousness of purpose, free inquiry and respect for classical texts. Drisha offers a wide variety of study options for women of all backgrounds and levels. The Scholars Circle provides the opportunity for highly qualified students interested in careers in Jewish education and scholarship to immerse themselves for three years in full-time, intensive study of Talmud and Jewish law. Havruta (partner) study is a major part of the program. Student receive a certificate upon completion of the program and a living stipend to support their studies. The Talmud/Tanakh Program is an intensive, two-year program leading to a certificate in Talmud and Bible. Students participate in the same Talmud class as the Scholars Circle and pursue mentored independent study in a wide range of topics related to the Bible. Participants receive a living stipend to support their studies. The Beit Midrash Program is an intermediate level, one-year program of full-time biblical and rabbinic textual study. Living stipends are available for students pursuing careers in Jewish education.
