Mission Statement:
The Irwin Daniels School of Jewish Communal Service offers several multi-disciplined graduate programs including single masters, joint masters with the Rhea Hirsch School of Education and the Magnin School for Graduate Studies, and double masters with many different schools of the University of Southern California as well as double masters with the Schools of Social Work at Washington University in St. Louis and the University of Pittsburgh. The program includes study in Israel; pluralistic approach. Founded in 1968, this program was the first of its kind in the United States. The school has pioneered the development of dual masters programs, combining communal service and social work, public administration, gerontology, and communications management, and has recently added a dual program in business administration with USC’s Marshall School of Business. A new program in informal Jewish education exists for those interested in careers as youth professionals and camp administration. Certificates as well as master’s level degrees in synagogue administration are also offered.
