Bend the Arc: A Jewish Partnership for Justice |
Mission Statement:
The Jewish Fund for Justice (JFJ) is a national, publicly-supported foundation that acts on the Jewish commitment to tzedakah (righteous giving) and tikkun olam (repair of the world). JFJ fights the causes and consequences of poverty through grants and technical assistance to grassroots groups working to promote economic justice, build community, combat the feminization of poverty, invest in youth, and assist immigrants and refugees. To educate and engage the Jewish community in social justice activism, JFJ provides resource material and assistance to synagogues and Jewish institutions, including Hillels; as well as grants to local Jewish social justice groups. In addition, JFJ is housing the national Jewish Social Justice Network, composed of JFJ and 12 local organizations working around the country to build Jewish participation in social change efforts.
