Mission Statement:
Combining both the latest technology and the oldest oral traditions, the Jewish Women’s Archive is working to bring a buried history back to life. JWA’s award-winning Web site has laid the foundation for our comprehensive, state-of-the-art Virtual Archive. This pioneering resource will make it possible for anyone, anywhere to instantly locate sources documenting the history of Jewish women in North America. Our Women of Valor posters, educational materials, and Web exhibits, created in collaboration with Ma’yan: The Jewish Women’s Project in New York, bring the lives and accomplishments of noteworthy Jewish women out of obscurity and into the mainstream.
