National Conference on Soviet Jewry (NCSJ) |
Mission Statement:
The National Conference on Soviet Jewry (NCSJ), a voluntary, non-profit agency created in 1971, is the mandated central coordinating agency of the organized Jewish community for policy and activities on behalf of the estimated one to one and a half million Jews in the former Soviet Union. The mission of NCSJ is to safeguard the individual and communal political rights of Jews living in the former Soviet Union and to secure their religious and political freedom. NCSJ seeks to assure the right of Jews to emigrate from the former Soviet Union without impediment, and monitors and combats anti-Semitism in the successor states.
