National Foundation for Jewish Culture (NFJC) |
Mission Statement:
The NFJC is dedicated to strengthening Jewish life by fostering an American Jewish cultural identity. Working with artists, scholars, cultural institutions and community agencies, NFJC provides programs, services, grants and awards in every region of the country. The NFJC’s best-known programs are the Doctoral Dissertation Fellowships in Jewish Studies, which have helped hundreds of students earn Ph.D.’s in Jewish Studies, and the Fund for Jewish Documentary Filmmaking, the largest such fund of its kind. The NFJC also coordinates the Council of Jewish Theatres, Council of American Jewish Museums and the Council of Archives and Research Libraries in Jewish studies, as well as the National Institute for Cultural Presenters.
