RIETS Rabbi Isaac Eichanan Theological Seminary |
Mission Statement:
Offers a course of study leading to Semikhah (the traditional ordination), as well as a variety of Rabbinic and Talmudic programs leading to more advanced ordination. REITS also encompasses four distinct Kollelim—institutes for advanced studies in Talmud and codes, including its program in Israel, which meets on Yeshiva’s Joseph and Caroline Gruss campus in Jerusalem. Integral to the REITS program are extensive rabbinic training and internship/apprenticeship programs. The Semikhah curriculum includes contemporary Jewish Halakhah and Halakhah L’Massaseh requisities which view modern issues and needs through the authentic prism of Jewish law. Co-requisite programs include Masters degrees at Yeshiva University’s Bernard Revel Graduate School in Bible, Jewish philosophy, Jewish history, and rabbinic literature; Azrieli Graduate School of Jewish Education and Administration; and Wurzweiler School of Social Work.
