Peace & Social Justice & the Hadassah-WUJS Institute in Arad |
Mission Statement:
The WUJS Institute's Peace and Social Justice Program, is a unique combination of Hebrew language instruction, Israel studies and an internship in a social change organization. During this five-month program, young Jewish college graduates will have the opportunity to gain first-hand knowledge of Israeli society, politics and culture and to actively participate in peace and social justice initiatives in Israel.
The goals of the Peace and Social Justice Program (PSJ) are to give participants a sophisticated understanding of contemporary Israel, to advance the cause of social justice in a Zionist framework, and to actively work in strengthening Israeli civil society and democracy. These goals are achieved over the course of two semesters, the first which is based in the WUJS Institute in Arad, and the second, which is an internship placement in a social change organization usually located elsewhere in the country.
