Amirim |
Mission Statement:
Amirim is your opportunity to experience authentic Israeli life in Jerusalem, Bat Yam, or Arad, while giving back to the community through meaningful volunteer options.
Program participants are college students and young professionals (ages 18-27), who share apartments with other participants from North America, Israel, Europe, and beyond. They volunteer four times a week for non-profit organizations in their area of interest. Recent volunteer options have included working with environmental organizations, soup kitchens, animal therapy, co-existence groups, human rights organizations, and many more. 4- to 8-week sessions are available. College credit and Hebrew language class opportunities will be offered.
Participants also enjoy cultural events, weekly group tours, hiking, and free time for personal exploration. Amirim's structure provides fantastic social and cultural programming, while allowing room for independence and free time. It's an ideal follow-up program for Taglit-Birthright Israel alumni.
